As an avatar of the Egyptian moon god, Khonshu, former mercenary Marc Spector has died and come back to life more than once. Indeed, he’s lived many lives because of his battles with dissociative identity disorder. However, the man called Moon Knight will live again, in a new series from Marvel Comics this October.
Marc Spector is back from the dead following a surprise resurrection in Blood Hunt #4. To fight the vampires that threatened the Earth, Khonshu raised all of his past avatars from the dead. This included Marc Spector, who was the most recently fallen of Khonshu’s champions.
To herald this new series, comic shops received a surprise shadow drop variant edition of Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #0 this week. This unannounced issue follows up on Blood Hunt #4 and is a perfect starting point for new readers. The regular edition of this zero issue, featuring a cover by E.M. Gist, will be available for purchase on July 3, 2024.

The new series will feature two of Marvel’s hottest creators. Jed MacKay, the writer behind the Blood Hunt story, will be handling the scripts on the new series. The art will be provided by Alessandro Cappuccio. Both creators are familiar with the characters, also working on the current Vengeance of the Moon Knight series.
“The father, freed. The son, returned. Marc Spector, Jake Lockley and Stephen Grant hit the streets once more, and he’s making up for lost time,” MacKay shared. “The streets have changed since Moon Knight died. I’m excited to explore how he deals with all-new threats to his territory.”
Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #0 releases on July 3, 2024. Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere on October 16, 2024.
