If you’re waiting for Jenna Ortega to show up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you might not want to hold your breath. The “Wednesday” star spoke to Entertainment Tonight recently and when the subject of her entering the Marvel Universe came up, Ortega surprised everyone with the reveal that she already became a part of the MCU in 2013’s “Iron Man 3.”

“I did it once,” Ortega said. “It was one of the first jobs I ever did. They took all my lines out. I’m in ‘Iron Man 3’ for a quick second, I take up the frame … And I’m the Vice President’s daughter.“

Her “Death of a Unicorn” co-star Paul Rudd jumped in to point out how often Marvel plants seeds, implying she could come back as her “Iron Man 3” character. Ortega seemed unimpressed.
“They even took my name away,” Ortega said. “But I just, I count that and move on.”
Of course, if Ortega changed her mind and did become interested in a Marvel role as an adult, it would hardly be the first time an actor played two different roles in the MCU. Alfre Woodard, Mahershala Ali, and Damon Poitier have all been cast as different characters in the narrative. Not to mention if Robert Downey Jr. can play Iron Man and Doctor Doom, Jenna Ortega should be able to play the Vice President’s daughter and someone else.
But if she chooses to stay away from the MCU, that’s okay, because she’s got plenty of other projects to choose from.
Later this month “Death of a Unicorn” hits theaters, in which Ortega plays Ridley, the daughter of Elliot Kintner (Paul Rudd). They accidentally hit a unicorn with their car and soon they’re being hunted by the fantastic creature’s parents.
Some time this year, Ortega will once again appear on Netflix in “Wednesday” as the eponymous Wednesday Addams for the show’s second season.
In the near future she’ll share the screen with Natalie Portman in “The Gallerist,” about a gallerist who tries to sell a man’s corpse at auction. She’ll play the titular robot in “Klara and the Sun” based on the Kazuo Ishiguro novel of the same name. And it was just announced Ortega will star in a remake of “Single White Female” with Taylor Russell.
