When discussing missed opportunities, Jennifer Garner’s portrayal of Elektra in the Daredevil film frequently takes center stage. But it appears that she has finally been blessed with good fortune. Yes, it has been revealed that the Alias actress will make her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the eagerly awaited Deadpool 3.
However, at first, Garner was let down because she felt that Kevin Feige’s influence on the Marvel franchise had elevated everything once he took over. She played the well-known Frank Miller-created Marvel comic book character (Elektra Natchios) in Ben Affleck’s Daredevil (2003). Later, in Rob Bowman’s Elektra, her 2005 standalone movie.
Although the film received mixed reviews, her performance was praised by many and left viewers wanting more of the intriguing plot that her character was involved in.

From Jennifer Garner’s Missed Opportunities to MCU Debut in Deadpool 3
Like many Marvel fans, Jennifer Garner had previously expressed her regret at not being a part of the MCU. She expressed disappointment with her stand-alone Elektra movie to THR in 2021, especially in light of how Kevin Feige, the new president of Marvel Studios, produced successful Marvel movies after Garner left. Back then, the actress said:
“It’s such a shame, honestly, because once Kevin took over, everything there was elevated: the writing, the direction, the comedy inside of the stories they were telling. And I did not have that experience.”

In a Glamour interview, Garner spoke about the challenges she faced while wearing Elektra’s constricting costume. She claimed that in order to use the weapons, she also underwent extensive martial arts training.
“I had to be cut out of and sewn into the pleather pants every time I had to pee, and that was like a 45-minute undertaking. So I definitely held it in. And I had so many chicken-cutlet fake boobs in to make Elektra’s b**bs; I think there were three on each side of different sizes. And everything was pushed up and out.”
The 51-year-old actress continued:
“I was just this close to a wardrobe malfunction at all times. There’s not enough tape in the world to make this stuff safe.”

Jennifer Garner’s Elektra Natchios is making a comeback in Deadpool 3 as the assassin antiheroine from Marvel Comics after a nearly 20-year absence, according to THR.
Ryan Reynolds is reprising his role as Wade Wilson / Deadpool in the Marvel Studios production, which is currently in the making. Hugh Jackman has taken on the role of Wolverine once again. Shawn Levy, who is also directing the film, will write the script alongside Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Zeb Wells, and Paul Wernick.
In the 2003 film Daredevil, distributed by 20th Century Fox and starring Ben Affleck as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, Garner took on the role of Marvel assassin. Despite not being a box office success, the movie did result in a spinoff, with Garner leading the solo act Elektra two years later. Even though it did not perform well at the box office, it was notable because the lead actress was one of the few female leads in studio comic book movies at the time.
A still from Deadpool 3
As a follow-up to Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018), Deadpool 3 is planned to be the 34th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The upcoming superhero film is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 3, 2024.
Deadpool and Deadpool 2 are streaming on Disney Plus.
