Marvel’s Iron Man comics will soon debut a new, earth-shattering arc that sees Stark donning a deadly new set of armor. The publisher teases the upcoming issue as the perfect jumping-on point for new readers.
Iron Man #6 will be released on March 12, 2025, with the issue being labeled as the “Stark Insurgent” prologue. Marvel’s solicit for the upcoming issue teases that Tony Stark is ready to join the fight against the Marvel Universe’s new leader, Doctor Doom. In order to face such an enormous threat, Iron Man will don a new set of deadly armor and fight side by side with some unexpected allies. The cover art for Iron Man #6 shows Stark blasting off in his suit, with parachutes carrying what appear to be missiles from Stark Unlimited floating in the air around him.

Written by Spencer Ackerman with art by Julius Ohta, Iron Man #6 will be the first issue of the new story arc to be released as part of Marvel’s One World Under Doom publishing initiative. Set to impact virtually all of Marvel’s publishing titles, One World Under Doom documents the villain’s rise to becoming Emperor of the World, turning Earth into his own “United Latveria.” Naturally, a group of Marvel heroes, including Iron Man, launch a strike team to stop him in his tracks.
Stark Debuted New Improvised Suit in Iron Man #1
Marvel’s latest Iron Man comics debuted in October 2024, telling the story of Stark as he works to build a new legacy for himself. The publisher has teased Ackerman and Ohta’s Iron Man run to be a “brutal era” for its titular character, forcing him to emerge from his past and upgrade his tech with brand-new armor. In Iron Man #1, Stark’s new suit emerged and was dubbed the “Improvised Iron Man”. As the series goes on, fans will get to see Stark’s Improvised Suit being assembled and upgraded as he faces new threats, like Doctor Doom.
