As part of Marvel Comics’ 2025 celebration of the Fantastic Four, the publisher will spotlight one of the eponymous team’s most iconic villains this May. Impossible Man will grace 10 variant covers across several Marvel titles, including Fantastic Four, Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, and Uncanny X-Men.
Per Marvel, the covers are split into two categories – Impossible! Variant Covers and Impossible Pop-Up Variant Covers. The former delivers “surprising takes on classic Marvel imagery as Impossible Man unleashes his unique brand of chaos on Marvel history.” The Impossible! Variant Covers pay homage to 1963’s Uncanny X-Men #136 by John Byrne, Amazing Spider-Man #300 by Todd McFarlane, and 2004’s Invincible Iron-Man #1 covers by Adi Granov as well as John Romita Jr.’s Wonder Man pinup from Marvel Illustrated – The Swimsuit Issue and Jim Lee’s depiction of Psylocke from an iconic ’90s X-Men trading card. The Impossible Pop-Up Variant Covers will see Impossible Man grab the spotlight in fresh artistic takes.
