Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will soon be available to stream at home. The superhero movie that caps off James Gunn’s trilogy hits Disney Plus on August 2.

That’s turning out to be a big week for at-home streaming of big movies, as Universal’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie comes to Peacock just a day later, on August 3.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was released in theaters on May 5, so it’s coming to Disney Plus 89 days after that. The film earned $842 million worldwide at the box office, which is more than the first Guardians movie ($773 million) but less than Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ($863 million).

As mentioned, Vol. 3 ended Gunn’s trilogy, and he is now the co-head of DC Studios. The Guardians series could continue, and it seems Chris Pratt might stick around and keep playing Star-Lord. Other actors, including Dave Bautista (Drax), have said they are moving on.

It’s possible Marvel could revive the Guardians series down the road with different actors, but nothing is certain at this stage. For now, Marvel movie fans can look forward to is The Marvels starring Brie Larson this November.
