Spider-Man is one of the greatest heroes in Marvel Comics. He has inspired so many other heroes, even inspiring his clones like Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker to become versions of the Scarlet Spider. Even Mary Jane Watson has suited up as Jackpot. Additionally, in alternate universes, Spider-Man’s children have gone on to become heroes as well.

In the latest volume of Ultimate Spider-Man, Peter and MJ’s son suited up in a high-tech, black-suited Spider-Man costume. Of course, readers can explore Marvel’s multiverse to find plenty of other Peter Parker children who have become spider-themed heroes by following in their father’s footsteps––Mayday Parker’s Spider-Girl from the MC2 universe being the most popular among them.

Benjy Parker Is The Scion Of The Spider-Verse

Amazing Spider-Girl by Tom DeFalco, Ron Frenz, Sal Buscema & Gotham

Benjy Parker is the youngest child of Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson in the MC2 universe and the younger brother to Mayday Parker’s Spider-Girl. Though readers have never seen Benjy officially suit up as a Spider-Man or even Spider-Boy, Benjy demonstrated some spider-powers even as an infant. He was one of the most sought-after Spider-Totems in the first Spider-Verse event.

Young Benjy was one of the priority targets for the Inheritors and a key to bringing down the Web of Life and Destiny. In earlier appearances, Benjy Parker even bonded to a version of the Carnage symbiote, teasing a potential future wearing either a symbiote or suiting up to fight crime alongside his sister.

Richard Parker Is The New Black-Suit Spider-Man

Ultimate Spider-Man (Vol. 3) by Jonathan Hickman, Marco Checchetto & Matthew Wilson

The newest Ultimate Spider-Man from Jonathan Hickman and Marco Checchetto started off with a bag, as Peter Parker inherited a new suit and spider-powers that, as Iron Lad put it, was the key to saving the new Ultimate Universe.

In a recent issue, Peter Parker and Harry Osborn’s Green Goblin were both kidnapped by Kraven the Hunter. To ensure New York still had a Spider-Man, Peter’s 15-year-old son, Richard, donned a prototype AI suit that morphs like a symbiote, creating an all-new black suit for Richard to wear. Richard will likely even end up helping his father fight crime in the near future.

Benjy & Claire Parker Fought Morlun In Peter’s Absence

Spider-Man: Life Story by Chip Zdarsky, Mark Bagley, John Dell & Frank D’Armata

The Life Story miniseries followed Spider-man from his earliest days as hero to his retirement age, using a sliding timescale to show highlights from Peter Parker’s entire life. Halfway through the series, Mary Jane Watson gave birth to two children, Benjy and Claire Parker, each inheriting spider-powers from Peter.

Though the bulk of Spider-Man: Life Story focused on Spider-Man and Peter’s clone, Ben Reilly, Benjy and Claire saw some action when Morlun came knocking on their doorstep looking for Spider-Totem energy to absorb. Benjy, ever the hero, just like his father, allowed himself to be paralyzed to let Claire deliver the killing blow. The end of the series saw Claire suiting up in a spider-themed suit that matched the Spider-Woman of the Ultimate Universe, promising that, even after Peter’s death, she’d continue fighting crime as the new Spider-Girl.

10 Times Spider-Man Gained Another Hero’s Powers

Spider-Man may be one of Marvel’s most powerful heroes, though he has occasionally received huge power-ups from fellow heroes like Hulk and Thor.

Unlike Uncle Ben, this version of Peter Parker did not teach Benny the lesson of power and responsibility. He saw what happened to MJ, and he wanted Benny to live a normal life. Aunt May, on the other hand, encouraged Benny to don Peter’s old suit and become the new Spider-Man, following in his father’s footsteps while they worked to finally defeat Cadaverous.

Ashley Barton Became A Spider-Girl Anti-Hero

Old Man Logan by Mark Millar & Steve McNiven

In the Old Man Logan timeline, Peter Parker had a daughter named Tonya. Years later, she had a relationship with Hawkeye and had a daughter named Ashley Barton. Ashley developed spider-powers, like her grandfather, and donned a new version of the Spider-Girl suit, though people in-universe often referred to her as the “Spider-Bitch,” due to her aggressive nature.

The Old Man Logan universe is a harsh place that breeds harsher heroes. As Spider-Woman, Ashley hunted down and killed the Kingpin, even briefly trying to kill her father, Clint. Ashley’s Spider-Woman later reappeared during the Spider-Verse event where she helped defeat the Inheritors. Unlike Peter Parker, however, Ashley joined the Superior Spider-Man’s team, as Otto Octavius specifically recruited versions of Spider-Man who weren’t afraid to kill.

May Parker Bonded With Earth-X’s Venom Symbiote

Earth X by Alex Ross, Jim Krueger, John Paul Leon, Bill Reinhold & Matt Hollingsworth

At first glance, the May Parker of the Earth X universe is very similar to the popular Spider-Girl character of MC2. Spider-Man retired from being a superhero after the death of his wife, Mary Jane Watson, prompting May to take his place.

Sadie Sink has officially been cast in Spider-Man 4, but with this addition, it’s led many fans to wonder what character she could portray.

Despite warnings from Peter about Venom, the two ultimately reconciled their differences, joining a hero squad led by Luke Cage. Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 5) by Nick Spencer, Christos N. Gage, Humberto Ramos & more

This version of Spider-Girl only appeared in one panel in the final issue of Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 5). Nick Spencer’s entire Amazing Spider-Man comic run was built on the foundations of “One More Day” and “Brand New Day,” teasing a potential reconnection between Peter and MJ.

Readers learned a lot of additional information about Mephisto and his fixation with Peter and MJ’s marriage. Long ago, he teased the couple with a vision of a little girl––the daughter they’d never have. Recently, Mephisto revealed that in the future, he’d fall to a spider-hero. However, this wasn’t Peter Parker, as fans believed, but a possible version of May Parker’s Spider-Girl who was destined to defeat Marvel’s devil.

May “Mayday” Parker Is The Amazing Spider-Girl

Amazing Spider-Girl by Tom DeFalco, Ron Frenz, Sal Buscema & Gotham

Perhaps the most famous, and most beloved, of Peter Parker’s children is May “Mayday” Parker from the MC2 universe. In this world, Peter Parker retired from being Spider-Man. His daughter, who inherited his powers, donned a costume similar to Ben Reilly’s Sensational Spider-Man suit.

In this new universe, Spider-Girl fought versions of the Green Goblin and teamed up with the Avengers Next team. This version of Spider-Girl has become a fan-favorite, thanks in large part to her long-running comic series in the ’90s and her recent appearance in the Spider-Verse comic event, prompting fans to call for her own comic title once again.
