While Deadpool’s most famous variants may be Gwenpool and the Deadpool Corps, several Infinity Comics now feature his wildest variants yet. Dogpool has made his return, while Catpool and Mousepool have now made their debuts in their self-titled series, Catpool and Mousepool. They’ve even had their own team-up already.

Marvel Unlimited features several exclusive digital comics, including Marvel’s line of “Infinity Comics.” Designed like Webtoon webcomic series, Infinity Comics are stories readers can scroll through, as one long story progression in a vertical format. Marvel’s subscription service has featured numerous series, but now the world of Petpool is making its mark.

The recent MCU debut of Dogpool in Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) has helped pave the way for an expansion into the Merc with a Mouth’s own team of super pets. They look cute, but they’re no less vicious than their original counterpart.

Dogpool, Catpool, & Mousepool Add to Deadpool’s Classic Extreme Approach Brilliantly & Effortlessly

Announced at San Diego Comic Con and featured on Marvel’s website, new comics featuring the Petpool characters, whose adventures closed out July and began August. They’re part of Marvel’s Friday Funnies comic line-up. Dogpool, Catpool, Mousepool, and Dogpool Team-Up all have the creative team of MacKenzie Cadenhead and Enid Balám. While these super animals may look really cute and kid-friendly, they are just as destructive and chaotic as Wade Wilson himself. The series also feature mature language, making them fit Deadpool’s persona well despite initial appearances to the contrary. The synopsis for their official team-up reads, “The Petpools teach Marvel Editorial what it means when we say, ‘f*&k around and find out.

Regarding these new comics, Mark Paniccia, an Editor with Marvel, says, “Catpool and Mousepool are instant classics! They’re truly twisted creations. It’s like MacKenzie and Enid went into Deadpool’s head and came back channeling Wade Wilson’s deranged humor. These characters will have you grinning from cheek to cheek.Deadpool can often best be described as chaotic and “deranged”, so it would make sense that animal versions of him would be very similar. While these pets may seem innocent enough in their design, they’re far from being suitable for all ages, putting a twist on classic Tom & Jerry antics.

Infinity Comics Have Found Success with Marvel’s Cutest Characters

It isn’t presently known if these new comic critters will see their run extend further into August, or if they’ll return in the near future in other possible adventures. Marvel Unlimited has succeeded at testing audiences with new comic content, as the subscription service featured the comic adventures of Jeff the Landshark in It’s Jeff and Alligator Loki in his own self-titled Infinity Comic series.It’s Jeff: The Jeff-Verse #1 recently won an Eisner award for Best Humor Publication. Catpool and Mousepool could prove to be the next big Infinity Comic success as their debut already proves they’re as prepared as Deadpool himself to creatively and violently defeat their foes.

With his incredible powers of healing and regeneration, Deadpool was initially depicted as an X-Men villain but went on to become an anti-hero.
