Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Deadpool Kills the Universe One Last Time (2025)!

Marvel’s favorite murderous Deadpool is back and on a new quest across the Multiverse. As this Wade Wilson variant takes on the Multiverse’s greatest threats, he’ll soon have to face the monstrous Red Hulk. However, Deadpool is leveling the playing field by dosing himself with a dose of gamma radiation as well. Even so, Wade may have trouble permanently keeping the Hulk down for the count.

In Marvel’s all-new Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe One Last Time, by Cullen Funn and Dalibor Talajić, the mass-murdering Wade Wilson from the previous ‘Deadpool Kills…’ series has been isolated with no one left to kill.

That is, until a multiversal-hopping woman conscripts Deadpool to take on the Multiverse’s greatest villainous heroes, like Superior Spider-Man. The cover art for the series’ third issue teases that Deadpool will have to “Hulk out” when he faces one of Marvel’s greatest terrors: The Red Hulk. However, no matter how hard Wade tries, he can’t kill what’s immortal.

Deadpool Has Little Hope of Truly Killing the Red Hulk

The short answer to the mystery of whether Deadpool can kill Red Hulk is “no.” While this Deadpool variant has already slaughtered the heroes and villains of his world and left the Multiverse without a few thousand other Deadpools, Hulks are a different breed altogether. As revealed in writer Al Ewing and artist Joe Bennet’s Immortal Hulk series, we learn that the Hulks and Marvel’s other gamma-mutates are avatars for the Multiverse’s ultimate evil, the One Below All. This primordial being serves as the hand of destruction, strife, and chaos across the Multiverse and has imbued its unwilling agents of calamity with slivers of its godly power.

Red Hulk Gets New Dose of “Nuclear Fire” That May Just Top the Original Hulk

Red Hulk has a critical role to play in Marvel’s massive “One World Under Doom” crossover event, and now he is being threatened with “nuclear fire.”

Like Marvel’s other theological avatars, death is merely a temporary state for the Hulks. When a Hulk “dies,” their soul is sent to the Below Place, the One Below All’s home dimension. Once in this apocalyptic wasteland, the cosmic Devil often opens gamma-fueled portals known as the Green Doors, which allow the Hulks to return from death regardless of the gruesome injuries they may have previously endured. Bruce Banner and his many alters endured countless excessively brutal deaths throughout Immortal Hulk, but each time they returned, thanks to the paramount powers of the One Below All.

Deadpool May Have An Opportunity To Kill Marvel’s Ultimate Devil

A Gamma-Infused Wade Wilson Becomes Immortal Too

While Deadpool may not be able to kill the Red Hulk permanently for now, without the One Below All, the Hulks would lose their immortal powers for good. In the future fight between Deadpool and the Red Hulk, expect that both savage killers could land one “lethal” blow upon each other, sending them both to the Below Place. There, the Multiverse’s most effective Deadpool would have direct access to the Multiverse’s absolute evil. This Deadpool variant is currently hunting villains from across space and time, and there’s no greater villain than the cosmic hand of destruction.

However, there is also an incredibly likely chance that the One Below All would favor this genocidal Deadpool. Once again, the One Below All’s singular goal is to bring an end to Marvel’s omniverse, but it needs its avatars to serve as its future vessels. While Earth-616’s Hulk has been specifically cultivated by the One Below All’s influence to become the cosmic god’s final mortal form, that’s not to say that Deadpool won’t be welcomed into its fold. Regardless, if this Red Hulk possesses the same gamma connection as Earth-616’s Hulks do,there’s little to no chance that Deadpool kills Thunderbolt Ross unless they bring the fight to the Below Place and the One Below All itself.
