Deadpool 3’s Marvel Cameo Fan Theories Are Correct, Director Reveals

Deadpool 3‘s rumored Marvel cameos get an exciting tease from the film’s director. The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie sees Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine join the shared universe. Deadpool 3‘s cast is rumored to include several actors from Fox’s past Marvel movies, as well as some MCU players, and those rumors have just gotten renewed strength.

Speaking with The Jess Cagle Show, Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy revealed that some of the rumored cameos for the movie are true.

Levy started by saying that he loves “the proliferation of casting rumors on the internet,” with several characters rumored to be part of Deadpool 3‘s story. The Deadpool 3 director then went on to give a more direct answer to the movie’s casting rumors, saying, “A lot of the internet rumors are completely false, but some of them aren’t.” Check out the full quote below:

“I love the proliferation of casting rumors on the internet, because I never have to say what’s real and what’s fantasy, so I’m just going to go with the very cliche ‘no comment’ on all things casting [with] Deadpool 3. I will say, we’re lucky on this one. There’s certainly — is this an answer? A lot of the internet rumors are completely false, but some of them aren’t.”

Deadpool 3‘s cameo rumors include a wide array of characters from both Fox’s past Marvel movies and the MCU. With Jackman coming back as Wolverine in the film, multiple actors from the original X-Men movie timeline have also been rumored to show up in the movie. The names who have appeared most frequently in the Deadpool 3 rumors are James Marsden as Cyclops, Halle Berry as Storm, Famke Janssen as Jean Grey, Ian McKellen as Magneto, and Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier.

Some names from other Fox Marvel movies are also part of Deadpool 3‘s casting rumors, with Jessica Alba’s Invisible Woman from director Tim Story’s two Fantastic Four movies believed to have a role in the film. Ben Affleck is also rumored to reprise his Daredevil in Deadpool 3, which got more possible after the reveal that Jennifer Garner will be returning as Elektra in the film.

Currently, the hottest Deadpool 3 casting rumor relates to singer Taylor Swift appearing in the movie. Swift was spotted hanging out with Reynolds, Jackman, and Levy recently, with the Deadpool 3 director addressing the Taylor Swift casting rumor, saying, “You’re going to have to wait and see.” With the movie having to deal with the multiverse to bring Deadpool into the MCU, characters like Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch and Owen Wilson’s TVA agent Mobius M. Mobius are also rumored to show up in Deadpool 3. With such an extensive list of rumored cameos, Marvel fans will only know who is in the movie for sure when Deadpool 3 premieres.
