Marvel's The Punisher, who has had a rocky history on the big screen, is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The character's previous live-action film, 2008's Punisher: War Zone, was Marvel's lowest-grossing movie ever, earning only $10.2 million at the box office. However, this time the Punisher will be a supporting character rather than the lead, and will be played by Jon Bernthal, who has been well-received by audiences in the role.
