A Deadpool, Spider-Man, and Daredevil team-up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe almost has to happen after several stars have commented on the possibility. Oftentimes, these three characters are grouped together as a dream team-up by readers of Marvel Comics. Naturally, this is bleeding over into wishes for the list of upcoming Marvel movies. Now that Deadpool has been fully inducted into the MCU via the Marvel multiverse as of Deadpool & Wolverine‘s ending, all three characters are now part of the same universe.
Daredevil: Born Again‘s MCU story will be told in 2025, while Spider-Man is a mainstay of the franchise. Updates about Spider-Man 4 prove it will be here sooner rather than later, giving each of the popular Marvel characters a solid future in Marvel Studios’ cinematic sandbox. With that in mind, audiences – myself included – are clamoring for the three to cross paths. With their individual stories pitting them in the same universe, this is more likely than ever – a probability that is only bolstered by comments from the various stars who play these iconic MCU characters.
Tom Holland, Ryan Reynolds & Charlie Cox Are All Open To A Marvel Movie Team-Up
In the MCU, the actors responsible for bringing these characters to life are Tom Holland, Ryan Reynolds, and Charlie Cox. Holland has played Spider-Man since 2016 in three solo MCU movies and three team-up films, while Cox has appeared in three seasons of Netflix’s Daredevil and cameo roles in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk. Finally, Reynolds portrayed Deadpool in two solo movies as part of Fox’s X-Men movie timeline before transitioning to the MCU via Deadpool & Wolverine. Across their extensive Marvel careers, each one has expressed willingness to team up with the other.
10 MCU Teams Who Will Come Together For Marvel’s Next Endgame-Level Event
As the MCU continues to be ever-expansive, the set of up of several individual teams must lead to a full team-up by the next Endgame-level threat.
Tom Holland
Beginning with Holland, the actor has been more than open to team-ups with both Deadpool and Daredevil. Beginning with the latter, the two have technically crossed paths before only as their alter egos, Peter Parker and Matt Murdock. Murdock became Parker’s lawyer during the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, hinting at the possibility of a future superhero connection. Holland has since commented on the Spider-Man/Daredevil possibilities, stating “I hope that one day we find a way for Spider-Man and Daredevil to team up again.”
Where Deadpool is concerned, Holland commented on that possibility via a report by Forbes in 2023. When talking about Deadpool & Wolverine, Holland was asked whether he has considered the possibility of teaming up with Reynolds and/or Hugh Jackman in the future. Holland stated “Yeah, of course I have. I’m a big fan of both of those guys,”
Charlie Cox
Cox’s comments on this MCU team-up are admittedly more cryptic than Holland’s. Nonetheless, the actor has commented on and shown willingness to cross paths with Spider-Man once more. At Rose City Comic-Con 2024, Cox was asked about a “Team Red” movie, meaning Daredevil, Deadpool, and Spider-Man. Cox’s answer was simply “I’ll have to check my schedule!” He then hinted at another Spidey team-up when asked which characters he wants to crossover with, stating “There is a character with some great comics history, and I got one scene with them…”
Ryan Reynolds
Finally, Reynolds has indicated he would like to team up with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. In an interview with Marvel Thailand (via Entertainment Weekly) Reynolds was asked which other Marvel heroes he would like to collaborate with. Reynolds insisted “If I could pick one, I’d love to play with Spider-Man. Tom Holland is amazing.” While there was no mention of Daredevil, a team-up between Spider-Man and Deadpool is on the cards, and could certainly lead to Daredevil’s involvement.
Spider-Man, Deadpool & Daredevil Have Teamed Up In The Past
Other Mediums Have Given Team Red Various Stories Together
While it has not come in live-action yet, Spider-Man, Deadpool., and Daredevil have teamed up either as a trio or as different duos in the past. The most notable team-up involving all three heroes came in the comic book run Deadpool: Suicide Kings. In this run. Deadpool was framed for a murder and begins investigating to clear his name. Along the way, he teams up primarily with Spider-Man and Daredevil – though the Punisher is also involved – to discover the culprit is Tombstone. The trio takes down Tombstone and the Wrecking Crew, clearing Deadpool’s name once and for all.
The comics have also provided numerous team-ups between variations of duos, from Spider-Man and Deadpool to Daredevil and Spider-Man. In various animated Marvel shows and their shared continuity, other team-ups have happened. In Spider-Man: The Animated Series, an arc saw Daredevil and Spidey team up to defeat Kingpin, ending with Matt Murdock declaring himself a lifelong ally of Peter Parker. Deadpool then appeared in a different animated show, Ultimate Spider-Man, showing Peter Parker how to live as a hero without any deadlines or commitments.
I’m Convinced Marvel Needs To Make A Spider-Man, Deadpool & Daredevil Movie ASAP
This Movie Would Be A Home Run
With the potential of a Deadpool, Spider-Man, and Daredevil movie happening, I am more convinced than ever that Marvel needs to take the plunge and do it. This movie would be perfect, and offer the chance for three fan-favorite live-action heroes to combine into a big, bombastic, hilarious, action-packed story. What makes the possibility even better is how well the characters, as they are depicted in the MCU, would bounce off of one another. Deadpool has the self-referential, meta humor that Deadpool & Wolverine‘s Marvel cameos proved works well when combined with other heroes.
Every Cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine Explained
Deadpool & Wolverine is packed to the brim with cameos from across the entire run of Marvel films, combining the numerous timelines together.
Daredevil, on the other hand, is much more serious and darker in tone than this. As She-Hulk proved, combining that type of character with more humorous scenarios undoubtedly works. Then there is Spider-Man, a classic everyman character who would tie the other two together given his tone is a mix of seriousness and humor. These elements, combined with the stars’ willingness, the action-packed story that could be written, and the surety of a Deadpool, Spider-Man, and Daredevil crossover smashing $1 billion at the box office, means the MCU needs to make it happen.
