Summary
One of the Batgirl movie directors carefully avoided confirming or denying their involvement in directing Spider-Man 4 when asked about the topic.
Fallah’s response in the interview may suggest that there is some truth to the rumors circulating about their potential involvement, but nothing is clear at this time.
One of the Batgirl movie directors chimes in on the Marvel rumors regarding whether they are in talks to direct Spider-Man 4. One of the most highly anticipated projects in the MCU is Spider-Man 4, set to start a new chapter for Peter Parker. After the game-changing ending to Spider-Man: No Way Home, the MCU audience has been waiting for quite some time to get more news on the sequel.
Nearly two years after the Batgirl movie cancellation, Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi have recently emerged as contenders to direct Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 in a new rumor. During a recent interview with Arabic MDC, Fallah was asked if there were any truths to the recent rumors, responding by politely saying, “I can’t talk about that.”
As of this story’s publication, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have yet to confirm or deny whether or not Fallah and Arbi are actually being eyed for Spider-Man 4. This also comes not long after the new Spider-Man 4 update by one of Sony’s executives.
10 Street-Level MCU Heroes We Want To See Team Up In Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 has the perfect setup to be a street-level event, and there are some heroes who would be perfect to help Peter Parker.
While time will tell whenever Spider-Man 4 filming will finally begin, Fallah and Arbi would be a terrific duo to helm Holland’s next sequel. Even though Batgirl sadly didn’t get released, the previous Warner Bros. regime clearly saw that the directing duo were more than capable of helming a superhero story, as they shot Barbara Gordon’s first solo hero movie.
Fallah and Arbi are also no strangers to street-level heroes, especially in the MCU movie timeline. The directing team helmed two episodes of the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel, which served as the live-action debut of Iman Vellani, who has become a massive fan favorite in the MCU. As Arbi and Fallah are already familiar with the Marvel formula, they would be a solid fit to return to the franchise and bring something new to Peter’s journey in the MCU through Spider-Man 4.
It would also be the first time that more than one director tackles Spider-Man’s cinematic adventure in a solo movie, which gives two refreshing perspectives for the web-crawler. If Spider-Man 4 is also set to be more grounded and focusing on the street side of the MCU, Fallah and Arbi would also be suited to handle other New York heroes, especially based on their previous experience. Hopefully, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios will have an official announcement soon on who is directing Spider-Man 4.
