Miles Morales just got a major upgrade to his Spider-Suit courtesy of a fan-favorite Marvel superhero.
Miles Morales: Spider-Man #25 finds the titular hero facing off against none other than the Black Panther himself in a brutal bout of combat. Of course, this isn’t any real fight, but rather T’Challa’s attempt to gauge where exactly Miles’ head is at in regards to his recent vampiric transformation. Luckily, Miles’ energy-based abilities have been enough to stave off his bloodlust for the most part, and the new suit T’Challa designed specifically for the young web-slinger is exactly what he needs to cover the slack.

It was during the events of Marvel’s recently concluded Blood Hunt crossover event when Miles was turned into a vampire. This shocking transformation came at the hands, or rather fangs, of none other than Blade himself. Instead of having genuinely taken a turn for the dark side, Blade was possessed by the spirit of Varnae, the very first vampire in the Marvel Universe, who amassed an army of vampires who launched a coordinated series of attacks all over the globe.
By harnessing the power of Darkforce-wielding heroes and villains, Varnae’s army was able to black out the skies over the entire planet. This opened the door for ongoing attacks that drastically reduced the number of heroes capable of standing against Varnae and his followers. Although the world’s heroes were ultimately able to turn the tide of battle against the vampires, the ultimate victory over Varnae was claimed by Doctor Doom, who claimed the mantle of Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme before clearing the skies and bringing an end to the Blood Hunt.
Though the vampire onslaught was brought to a close, the status quo under which the Marvel Universe’s vampires once lived was irrevocably altered in the process. As of now, Marvel’s vampires are no longer hindered by sunlight. Not only has this paved the way for vampires to hound the world’s humans both day and night, it has opened the door for vampires to become a part of everyday society in ways that were previously unavailable to them as a whole.

Peter Parker was the original Spider-Man but the Spider-Verse has become an important part of the character’s lore in recent years. Multiversal and future Spider-Men include Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Miguel O’Hara and Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham. This provided the premise for the popular Spider-Verse film trilogy, which makes Miles its primary hero.
Spider-Man is also the basis of several live-action film franchises and numerous animated television series. He is one of the most recognizable characters in the world. While he’s changed a lot over the decades, Steve Ditko and Stan Lee gave the world an unforgettable hero when they created Spider-Man.
