Actor Jonathan Majors was dumped from the Marvel Cinematic Universe immediately after he was convicted of assault and harassment Monday, according to a person familiar with the situation.
Majors was cast to become the overarching new villain Kang the Conqueror in upcoming Marvel films. He was also signed to appear as the supervillain in “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” in 2026 and “Avengers: Secret Wars” in 2027.

It is not clear whether the studio will recast or rewrite the role created by Majors — whose Kang character debuted in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.”
Neither Marvel nor parent-Disney commented.
Majors was found guilty of assault and harassment of his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, inside a hired car in New York City.

In March, Variety reported that “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” starring Majors, flopped, becoming one of the few Marvel flicks to not break even. Critics pointed to the actor’s headline-grabbing arrest that month as a potential reason.
