To celebrate Marvel’s 50,000th comic-book release (yep, you read that correctly), it is releasing its 85th Anniversary Special and a much-loved hero is set to make a well deserved return.

This year marks the 85th anniversary of Marvel comics and to celebrate the massive milestone, a brand-new comic book titled MARVEL 85TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL (2024) #1 was released on 28 August.

Check out the trailer for Ms. Marvel below!

Its synopsis reads as follows:

“In the far future of the year 50,000, the exploits of the heroes of the Marvel Age are the stuff of legend, half remembered but still celebrated!

Come with us now on a tour of the greatest museum in all the cosmos, in which the few surviving relics of those bygone days have been assembled.

Each piece tells a unique story – about the Contest of Champions and how it wrought an end to the Age of Heroes, about the greatest triumph of Ms. Marvel and the final, secret exploit of Excalibur!”

Perhaps more excitedly is that this volume will consist of some of the greatest Marvel storytellers coming together to share one-off stories.

That includes Iman Vellani who is best known for playing Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel in the MCU.

Since her role in the MCU playing Ms. Marvel in the self-titled Disney+ show and The Marvels movie, she has also helped co-write the Ms. Marvel comics.

Now she is lending her talents once again by having another Ms. Marvel story featured in the Marvel 85th Anniversary Special.

The story will see Ms. Marvel trade her Inhuman and mutant powers in exchange for the Power Cosmic as a herald of Galactus.

Ms. Marvel’s new adventure will be told in “The Herald of Tomorrow” short story and will show us the superhero as we have never seen her before.

More importantly, you don’t have to wait as MARVEL 85TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL (2024) #1 is now available at every major comic-book store.
