Two of the greatest assassins to ever grace the ranks of the X-Men have embarked on a new career as Japan’s premier vampire hunters.

While the world is busy being plunged into darkness by the power of its Darkforce-wielding heroes and villains in the pages of X-Men: Blood Hunt – Pyslocke #1, Kwannon and John Greycrow try to spend a rare moment of peaceful romance with one another. Unsurprisingly, they are more than ready to put their personal plans on hold once they learn of the situation at hand. Better yet, they are also more than prepared to take on whatever vampiric menaces Osaka has to offer, no matter how horrifying those threats might be.

Kwannon, better known as Psylocke, has been a part of the Marvel Universe since 1989’s Uncanny X-Men #256 by Chris Claremont and Jim Lee, albeit only in part. Because of a convoluted body-swapping plot carried out by the Hand and centered around Kwannon and Betsy Braddock, the hero fans know as Psylocke wouldn’t have a proper introduction of her own until more than three years later with the release of 1992’s X-Men #17 by Fabian Nicieza and Andy Kubert.

The technopathic mutant mercenary John Greycrow made his debut as a member of the original Marauders back in 1986’s Uncanny X-Men #210 by Claremont and John Romita Jr. Early on in his career, Greycrow took part in the mission to assassinate Madelyne Pryor at the behest of Mister Sinister. Though the Marauders were unsuccessful in their efforts, they proved the extent of their cruelty later on when they targeted the Morlocks, with Greycrow being personally responsible for the deaths of dozens of innocents. It wasn’t until after the rise of Krakoa and Greycrow’s own death and resurrection that he was given a shot at redemption and began making amends for his past.
