Marvel Comics is set to rename The Fantastic Four this April. The new team name comes ahead of the group’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in July.
Marvel’s One World Under Doom event is set to kick off in a few weeks, with Doctor Doom reigning supreme over the Marvel Universe. The cataclysmic event will impact virtually all of Marvel’s ongoing titles as well as launch a variety of tie-ins and limited series. March’s Fantastic Four #30 will see the team down to being the Fantastic Three, but April’s issue fares even worse for the superhero family. Marvel recently revealed its solicits for April 2025, and Doom’s control over the world will turn The Fantastic Four into The Fantastic Two. Fantastic Four #31 goes on sale April 30.

The issue sets the stage for The Fantastic Four team members to reflect on their origins, and they’re teased to take a “desperate path” in order to fulfill their goals. “They need only recreate the circumstances that first gave them their powers. But when safety doesn’t get them results, there is a more desperate path available to the Four – and they take it. It all comes down to this! A young woman. Her kid brother. The man she loves. His only friend… and a desperate launch into space.”
Marvel’s Heroes to Suffer Tragic Losses Against Doom
The Fantastic Four aren’t the only superheroes expected to face devastating losses as Doom rises to power in the Marvel Universe. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will battle it out against Doom in Avengers #25, and Marvel has teased that they will have a “humbling defeat at Doom’s hands.” The massive comic event will also see Doom assembling his own team of superheroes, using his powers to have the Tiger Division fight for him after the group opposed him in their comics debut.
