Peter Parker’s Spider-Man has been up against some vicious enemies, but his upcoming battle against the Predator will have him wishing he was trading punches with the Green Goblin. In the latest clash between the Marvel Universe and the world of Predator, the friendly neighborhood wall-crawler will take on a Yautja with a difference – this one isn’t held back by any concept of ‘honor.’
In solicit information released by Marvel, fans have their first look at Predator vs Spider-Man. Coming from Benjamin Percy (Predator Vs. Wolverine) and Marcelo Ferreira (Amazing Spider-Man: Blood Hunt), the four-part miniseries will see Spider-Man go up against “Skinner” – a Yautja who eschews the species’ usual obsession with personal honor. That means there are no limits on the terror that’s about to hit New York.

A heat wave sends NYC into a blackout and Spider-Man on patrol as tempers boil across the city. But beneath its grimy sewers and subways lurks a threat unlike anything Peter Parker has faced before. Introducing “Skinner,” a Predator of no honor and no clan – only a thirst for blood.
Similar to the iconic Predator 2, Predator vs Spider-Man will see a Yautja hunting in an urban environment, with Spider-Man fighting to protect New York’s innocent. Speaking to Marvel, Spencer says:
Spider-Man is at the top of every writer’s wishlist. I’m thrilled and grateful to get this opportunity, putting this beloved webslinger against the galaxy’s greatest hunters in the urban wilderness of New York. It’s so much fun to live in Peter Parker’s world — and to put my own wild spin on his relationship with MJ, Jonah Jameson, and (yes — oh, hell yes) Kraven. Marcelo Ferreira captures the visual dynamism of Spidey so well, and we’ve had a lot of fun designing a Predator that is unlike any other. This Yautja — who we’re calling Skinner — has no code or clan. He’s the perfect nightmarish foil to the big-hearted Parker.

Wolverine and Black Panther Already Faced Their Own Yautja
While also publishing Predator and Alien comics series under its new 20th Century Studios imprint, Marvel has begun releasing crossovers, where heroes like Wolverine, Black Panther and the Avengers take on the iconic big-screen extraterrestrials. But while Wolverine clashed repeatedly with a Yautja honorbound to kill him and Black Panther had to fend off an invasion set on conquering Wakanda, Spider-Man is destined for a gritty, personal fight against the ultimate hunter – though the inclusion of Kraven in the story means that title is up for grabs.
Spider-Man is a famously empathetic hero who often strives to rehabilitate his villains. However, in the case of Skinner, nothing short of death will deter the Predator from its hunt. Ryan Brown’s gorgeous variant cover (above) shows the two head-to-head, with Spider-Man’s torn costume showing how intense this clash is going to be.
So far, Marvel’s Predator vs… titles have been an immense amount of fun, as superhuman powers clash against alien gadgets. With his enhanced strength, Spider-Sense, and webbing, Spider-Man has more chance than most of taking down the alien hunter, however that advantage may not matter against a Predator that will do anything to claim its prize.

Predator is an action sci-fi franchise created by Jim and John Thomas, beginning with the original film released in 1987. The franchise follows a warrior alien race known as the Yautja who travel the far reaches of space looking for worthy prey to hunt, constantly bringing them to Earth due to the sheer amount of conflict harbored on it.
