Marvel Comics has announced its first-ever Star Wars: Jedi Knights comic series. The reveal of the new ongoing series came at the Lucasfilm Publishing panel during this year’s New York Comic Con.

Star Wars: Jedi Knights will be Marvel’s first ongoing series focusing on the legendary guardians of peace and justice, and it will be written by acclaimed Star Wars Writer Marc Guggenheim and drawn by Madibek Musabekov (Star Wars, X-Men Red). The new series will take place before The Phantom Menace, with different members of the Jedi Order going on adventures, including Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Count Dooku, Mace Windu, and Yoda. Marvel also teased that the series will introduce new Jedi characters who served the Republic during the pivotal era in Star Wars history. Marvel revealed the main cover and two special Lightsaber Foil variants for Star Wars: Jedi Knights #1, which goes on sale in March 2025.

The Star Wars franchise has been adapted into various comic book series dating all the way back to the 1977 debut of the film series. Marvel was the first to launch its original Star Wars comics, which ran for ten years until 1987. In 2015, the Star Wars comics license returned to Marvel, launching several new series, including Star Wars: Darth Vader and Doctor Aphra. Over the course of the last ten years, Marvel has been exploring every inch of the Star Wars universe in its comic offerings.
