1978 Ford Mustang II King Cobra

The under-performing features of the 1978 Ford Mustang II King Cobra inspired Marvel creators of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 to fit it into the antagonist Ego’s life. The Starlord’s father and an evil maniac, Ego The Living Planet portrayed by Kurt Russell, and his wife Meredith Quill drove around in a blue King Cobra when on Earth.

The hatch-back-only Mustang II King Cobra is bolstered by a 5.0-litre with power steering and power brakes. The engineers were keen on developing it as a limited performance-ideal machine. Reportedly, it was later regarded as among the poorest performing Fords.

1941 Cadillac Series 62

Howard Stark

The Iron Suit’s ability to fly was a tech developed by Tony Stark’s father Howard Stark, an extraordinary inventor. In 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger, Howard Stark, to achieve flight stabilization, fitted hoverboards instead of wheels in the stunning 1941 Cadillac Series 62, displaying a modified version of the vintage car. The ‘flying Cadillac’ was then featured in glimpses at a time in the MCU, when Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers had just transformed into Captain America.

According to Motor Trend, the Cadillac Series 62 is a 4-door convertible, a special Cadillac feature limited to that year. With a 346-cubic-inch V-8 engine, the Series 62 revved up to a maximum of 100mph. It was styled by American automotive designer Harley Earl, a pioneer of the design industry.

1932 Ford Model B- Flathead Roadster

Iron Man and Captain America in the MCU

Robert Downy Jr.’s Tony Stark, very much like the actor, flaunts a profound love for cars and machines. Therefore, the MCU’s best engineer owned a classic 1932 Ford Model B-Flathead Roadster aka Hotrod, showcased recurringly in Tony Stark’s garage in 2008’s Iron Man and 2010’s Iron Man 2.

According to Hot Cars, Ford manufactured only 2 cars between 1932 to 1934, and this Ford Model B was one of them. The machine hosts a four-cylinder engine with 50 horsepower. The car is owned by Jon Favreau, director of Iron Man in the MCU. Therefore, the rarity and iconic presence of the car bedazzled Marvel fans.
