Comic book heroes often serve as role models for younger fans, and superheroines in particular can inspire young girls to see their own strength. Some adults grew up reading about these incredible characters, and these heroes continue to have a special place in their hearts to this day.

Marvel Rivals already includes superheroines like Psylocke and Storm, but there are literally hundreds more that developers could choose from. Some of these characters, like She-Hulk and Mystique, have massive fanbases, and comic book fans can’t wait to see them added to the Rivals roster.

She-Hulk is Always Overshadowed by Her Cousin

First Appeared in The Savage She-Hulk #1

After being fatally shot by a mobster, Jennifer Walters received a life-saving blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner. However, his gamma-irradiated blood transformed her into She-Hulk. Embracing her new form, she chooses to spend most of her time as She-Hulk, balancing her life as a superhero with her career as a successful lawyer, all while fighting alongside teams like the Avengers and Fantastic Four. While her MCU show had a mixed reception, She-Hulk has a devoted fan base eager to see her added to the Marvel Rivals roster.

Though her cousin may be stronger and receive more attention, She-Hulk is a powerful and deserving character in her own right. Adding her to Marvel Rivals would be a fantastic way to celebrate her. She has the same rage, super strength, and healing factor as Hulk but with the unique ability to retain her personality and intellect. With her powers, She-Hulk would be a great fit as either a vanguard or a duelist.

The Wasp is One of the Founding Members of the Avengers

First Appeared in Tales to Astonish #44

Janet Van Dyne—or Hope Van Dyne in the MCU—is one of the founding Avengers and the one who gave the superhero team its name. She gained her powers after being overexposed to active Pym Particles while avenging her father’s death. She later married Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, and has played a key role in several major events in the Marvel Universe

With an impressive roster of iconic characters, as fans team up for Marvel Rivals, many wonder which among them are the game’s most fun to play.

The Wasp’s powers would make her an absolute nuisance on the battlefield. She can shrink down to the size of an insect, grow exponentially larger, and even fly all over the place, just like her namesake. On top of that, she can shoot powerful bio-electric blasts from her hand and communicate with insects, though she doesn’t use that last ability very often. The Wasp is an essential part of Marvel’s history, which is why she belongs in Marvel Rivals.

Gamora is Deadly With a Sword and Skilled in Hand-to-Hand Combat

First Appeared in Strange Tales #180

The last of the Zen-Whoberis species, Gamora, was “saved” from certain death by the Mad Titan, Thanos. Thanos believed her desire for revenge and the brutal training he could provide would make her the most dangerous woman in existence. Gamora, however, despised her upbringing and her adoptive father. When she discovered his plan for universal genocide, she turned against him and eventually found a family with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

While Gamora’s enhanced speed and strength make her a force to be reckoned with, her true power lies in her skills on the battlefield. Gamora was raised to be the deadliest woman in the galaxy, and between her training and natural combat skills, there aren’t many Marvel characters who would make a better duelist. Gamora is also one of the most adept martial artists in the universe and knows her way around more than a few weapons. Since there are already two Guardians of the Galaxy characters in Marvel Rivals, Gamora can’t be far behind.

Not every Marvel Rivals character is as easy to learn as Jeff the Land Shark or The Punisher.

Thanks to her extremely powerful shapeshifting ability, Mystique would be nearly impossible to track if added to Marvel Rivals. She can not only change her appearance to look exactly like anyone she chooses but can also alter every cell in her body instantly. Mystique’s morphing abilities are among the strongest in the Marvel universe, allowing her to do virtually anything and become whoever she needs to achieve her goals. Any X-Men fan would love to see Mystique included in the game.

Her Feral Nature Would Make X-23 a Vicious Duelist

First Appeared in X-Men: Evolution

Although she made her debut in the animated television show X-Men Evolution and even had her own comic book series, X-23 really gained popularity through her role in the movie Logan. During an experiment to recreate the original Weapon X, Sarah Kinney mixed Wolverine’s DNA with her own genetic material, becoming the surrogate mother of Laura Kinney. Laura was raised and tormented by the Facility in an attempt to turn her into a brutal killer. She eventually escaped, at the cost of her mother’s life, and sought out her father, Wolverine.

With the same abilities as Wolverine, X-23 would be a terror in every match. Her bone claws are sharper and sturdier than any human bone, capable of cutting through most natural materials. Thanks to her regenerative healing factor, she’s nearly indestructible and could likely live for centuries if left alone. Hopefully, if she’s ever added to Marvel Rivals, X-23, and Wolverine will have an awesome team-up ability.

Carol Danvers Would Have the Potential to Dominate the Battlefield

First Appeared in Marvel Superheroes #13

Ever since she was a young girl, Carol Danvers was obsessed with flying. She joined the Air Force and eventually became the head of security at NASA. Part human and part Kree, her powers manifested after she was exposed to energy from Captain Mar-Vell’s Nega-Bands. Over the years, Carol has taken on several identities, sometimes as Ms. Marvel and other times as Captain Marvel. Regardless of the title, one of her iterations needs to be added to the roster.

Marvel Rivals has just hit the gaming scene as one of the surprise hits of the year, but of its sizable roster, which characters are the best?

There’s a reason the MCU highlighted Carol Danvers as the savior the Avengers needed to face Thanos: she’s incredibly strong. Even if she might be overpowered for Marvel Rivals, she deserves a place in the game. Her super strength and durability are impressive, but her true power lies in her ability to absorb and manipulate energy, unleash destructive photon blasts, and tap into her nearly unstoppable Binary form. According to leaks, Carol Danvers will join the Marvel Rivals roster soon, and if these rumors are true, she would undoubtedly rank among the strongest characters in the game.

A Comic Accurate Jean Grey Would be Unstoppable in Marvel Rivals

Ironheart Would Need a Different Playstyle Than Iron Man

First Appeared in Invincible Iron Man #9

Attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at fifteen on a full scholarship, Riri Williams is a certified super-genius with enormous potential. She stole equipment from campus and used it to build a suit of armor modeled after Iron Man’s, and she did it all on her own. After damaging her suit while preventing the escape of two inmates at the New Mexico State Penitentiary, she returned home to continue refining her design, where she eventually got support from Tony Stark himself.

Lesser-known heroes and villains should have a chance to gain more recognition by being added to the playable roster.

Heavily inspired by Tony Stark, Riri Williams’s Ironheart suit is just as technologically advanced, if not more so, than Iron Man’s, which would make her a dangerous opponent in any match. While she lacks superpowers, her genius-level intellect and engineering skills set her apart. Her suit features an artificial intelligence based on Tony Stark’s mind, helping her solve problems on the fly. With sky-high expectations surrounding her MCU debut, adding Ironheart to Marvel Rivals could help build even more excitement.

2

Firestar’s Powers Would Make Her a Blast to Play As

First Appeared in Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends

Angelica Jones was just a young girl when her mutant powers began to manifest. Her abilities caught the attention of Cerebro, prompting Professor Xavier and the X-Men to try recruiting her. However, they arrived minutes too late, as Angelica was instead taken in by Emma Frost and spent years under her tutelage, unknowingly aiding Frost and the Hellfire Club in their sinister activities. Firestar isn’t one of Marvel’s most well-known heroes, but she did serve as a member of the Avengers for a time and has a dedicated fan base that would love the chance to play as her in Rivals.

Some heroes have powers that feel tailor-made for a video game, and Firestar might have more potential for fun gameplay than any other Marvel hero. While she’s still learning to master her abilities, Firestar can absorb and manipulate microwave energy as well as other low forms of nuclear energy and use that energy to generate intense heat as a weapon and to fly. Adding her to Marvel Rivals would let players finally live out the fantasy of shooting fire from their fingertips.

1

Spider-Gwen Would Complete the Marvel Rivals Spider-Family

First Appeared in Edge of Spider-Verse #2

Spider-Gwen has been a fan-favorite superhero for over ten years now. An alternate-reality version of Gwen Stacy, she was bitten by a radioactive spider and gained the same arachnid-like powers as Spider-Man. In her universe, she is friends with her nerdy neighbor Peter Parker, who inadvertently becomes the Lizard and is accidentally killed by Gwen during one of his rampages. Spider-Gwen’s popularity has surged recently thanks to the Spider-Verse movies, and adding her to Marvel Rivals would be a great way to keep the momentum going.

Even though she basically has the same powers as Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen could still be added to Rivals with a unique playstyle. She’s bonded with the Venom Symbiote more frequently than Spider-Man, which amplifies her powers and gives her access to the famous tendrils associated with the symbiote. She has also demonstrated the ability to manifest and control bioelectricity, similar to Miles Morales. Spider-Gwen, also known as Spider-Woman, is one of Marvel’s most beloved Spider-Man variants and deserves to join the rest of the Spider-Family in the game.
