After the death of Darkseid, the leader of Apokolips infected an alternate universe, creating new versions of heroes. The Absolute Batman fights without the support of Alfred Pennyworth or a fortune at Wayne Industries, but that doesn’t mean he’s powerless.

Absolute Batman is built more like Bane from The Batman (2004) animated series––a hulking, brutal fighter who uses the points of his cape like daggers. This Batman is a tank and has already proven his fighting prowess against Black Mask’s gang members and the special ops Alfred. Batman may be thriving in the Absolute Universe, but how would he fare against some of Marvel‘s toughest villains––those who emulate the challenges of stopping crime in Gotham City?

Sabretooth Is More Of A Beast Than Absolute Batman

Sabretooth is little more than a wild beast and one that holds grudges. Wolverine has struggled against this X-Men villain for decades, but Absolute Batman may have less trouble with him. With Batman’s tactical mind and strategic planning, he should defeat Sabretooth easily.

Sabretooth often acts without thinking. He killed humans during House of X, and that foolish stunt landed him in Krakoa’s prison for, presumably, all of time. Batman doesn’t need to overpower Sabretooth, though Absolute Batman sure looks like he could. He just needs to force him to act without thinking.

Mysterio Could Trick Absolute Batman

Mysterio can be incredibly dangerous, as proven in Old Man Logan. His illusions tricked Wolverine into murdering most of the X-Men in the mansion. However, Batman is no stranger to villains messing with his head. If Absolute Batman is anything like his prime universe counterpart, he’s above simple illusions. Batman is above fear.

Mysterio and Scarecrow share many traits, though Scarecrow is even more deadly, creating hallucinogenic illusions that can cause victims to harm themselves and others through fear. If Absolute Batman can overcome Scarecrow’s fear toxins, then Mysterio’s illusions become nothing but simple party tricks.

The Jackal Could Dismantle Bruce Wayne’s Life

Batman faces many physical threats, from Deathstroke to Bane to Azrael and Killer Croc. However, so many Batman villains target the Dark Knight’s psyche. The Riddler constantly tried to upstage the Dark Knight, while Hush attempted to dismantle Bruce Wayne’s life. The Joker loves chaos, and Batman would find a similar villain in the Marvel Universe: the Jackal.

Spider-Man has endured a lot of hardship, much of it originating from the Jackal’s evil plans. The Jackal created clones of Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy, all to torment Peter Parker. The Jackal would make an incredible DC villain and could damage Absolute Batman’s mind. Thankfully, as evidenced by the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh, Batman has mental failsafes. Hopefully, Absolute Batman developed those as well.

Taskmaster Could Match Absolute Batman’s Skills

Absolute Batman is already proving himself a capable fighter, with special forces keeping a close eye on him and Gotham’s criminals painting targets on his back. Taskmaster may be one of the best fighters in Marvel Comics, but could he stand up to Batman?

Taskmaster has the incredible ability to mimic his foes’ movements and attack patterns. If he fought Batman, Taskmaster would eventually learn all his moves and become one of the world’s greatest fighters. Batman, thankfully, is incredibly resourceful. If brute force alone couldn’t defeat Taskmaster, perhaps he could disrupt the villain’s photographic abilities.

Bullseye’s Is One Of Marvel’s Top Assassins

Bullseye is a deadly assassin who frequently battles Daredevil. Batman and Daredevil share many traits as skilled martial artists considered the top fighters in their worlds. However, as skilled as Bullseye is in the Marvel Universe, Batman has encountered several villains like him in DC Comics.

Bullseye is all about precision, but Batman has faced similar DC villains, such as Deadshot and Deathstroke. Bullseye may be an A-list Daredevil villain, but he’d fall to Batman’s C-tier alongside Deadshot, who the Dark Knight defeated many times. Batman even briefly faced Bullseye during the Marvel vs. DC event, and the assassin claimedhe hits even harder than Daredevil.

Kingpin Would Own Gotham’s Underworld

Batman could defeat the Kingpin, but it would be difficult. Wilson Fisk is Batman’s worst nightmare––a rich, corrupt businessman-turned-mayor of New York City who uses his wealth and resources to fund criminal empires. Kingpin is more like Lex Luthor––a villain to both Batman and Bruce Wayne.

Defeating the Kingpin requires both physical strength and political cunning. Thankfully, Absolute Batman has the strength side covered. In the recent issue of Absolute Batman, the young Bruce Wayne teamed up with Alfred Pennyworth. With his resources, they could team up to take Kingpin and his empire down.

Absolute Batman Is Kraven’s Prey

Alfred Pennyworth was sent to Gotham City on assignment, but now he’s keeping a close eye on Batman. Kraven the Hunter came to New York to hunt people like Spider-Man. If he discovered a figure like Batman in the DC Universe, he’d make Gotham his new jungle and the Dark Knight his new prey.

Kraven may be the world’s greatest hunter, but Batman has survived gauntlets of enemies thrown his way. Even the younger, fairly inexperienced Batman from Arkham Origins survived assaults from eight assassins. Considering Absolute Batman is similarly experienced, he could also survive Kraven’s hunt.

Red Hulk Would Hunt Absolute Batman Down

Thunderbolt Ross loves law and order, making someone as destructive and chaotic as the Hulk, his primary enemy. Absolute Batman may not be quite the monster the Hulk is, though he is built like the green giant; Thunderbolt Ross would still love to put an end to his vigilantism. If the military couldn’t do it, maybe the Red Hulk could.

The prime universe Batman has gone toe-to-toe with figures like Darkseid, so if the Absolute Batman is anything like his mainstream counterpart, he should devise a plan to stop a creature as powerful as the Red Hulk.

Winter Soldier Can Go Toe-To-Toe With Captain America

The Winter Soldier can fight someone as powerful and strategic as Captain America. On a good day, Absolute Batman would struggle to contend with someone who not only benefits from enhanced strength but also trained as a Hydra assassin for years.

However, Batman’s strength is not his fighting prowess. Batman uses gadgets and weaponry that Captain America doesn’t. Additionally, Batman will sometimes appeal to his villains’ morality. Gotham villains have very little, but at Winter Soldier’s core, Bucky Barnes can be redeemed, and with the right words and the right push, Batman doesn’t need to defeat Winter Soldier; he just needs to save Bucky.

Green Goblin Is A Physical & Psychological Threat To Absolute Batman

There’s no question: the Absolute Batman’s greatest challenge in the Marvel Universe wouldn’t be godlike beings like Galactus or Thanos. It would be Norman Osborn, a.k.a. the Green Goblin. No villain has caused Spider-Man more trauma or heartache (save for, possibly, Doctor Octopus).

Absolute Batman may not have Alfred Pennyworth at his side, he may not have his father, but he still has his mother, and Green Goblin would use Martha Wayne as leverage to get to Bruce. However, pushing this younger, bolder Batman past the edge may not end well for Green Goblin. Pushing Spider-Man too far ended in Norman’s death, and Spider-Man is no Batman.
