On March 4, 2025, Marvel fans woke up to surprising news: a large chunk of conceptual art for some of the most anticipated future Marvel Cinematic Universe projects was allegedly leaked. While some members of the fandom still believe this was an intentional marketing ruse, others truly believe this is the biggest Marvel Studios leak ever. Regardless of the truth behind it, the leaked art seems genuine, and it points to certain comic storylines from Marvel that fans have been eager to see for a while.

Of course, fans online are already dissecting every detail in the conceptual art to determine what’s coming. From confirmation of certain characters and teams making it into the MCU soon to the inclusion of certain Battleworld domains, these images tease certain comic storylines that fans won’t want to miss in the MCU’s future.

The Punisher is coming back to the MCU with his own Disney+ special presentation, and this forgotten story arc might be the perfect source material.

Hulk Village May Hint At Two Important Secret Wars Tie-Ins

One leaked image features something never seen in the MCU: Hulk, She-Hulk, and another younger gamma being (likely Skaar) in a medieval setting. The image, tagged as “Hulk Village,” also shows green people, clearly gamma beings, behind the three main characters. This is obviously the depiction of a city where there aren’t normal humans, only Hulks. Hulk-only stories aren’t uncommon in Marvel.

However, this specific frame may be the MCU’s first hint towards Greenland, the biggest domain in Battleworld and a nation full of gamma-irradiated creatures after a Gamma Bomba attack. Greenland is the main setting of Planet Hulk, a comic that follows Steve Rogers throughout a Hulk-ridden land. It’s also important for Future Imperfect since it’s the land where Maestro, the leader of Dystopia, sent any dissenters. Both stories are part of the Battleworld tie-ins in Secret Wars, so fans now suspect some of these tie-ins will make it onto the big screen.

Weirdworld Could Bring Fantasy Into The MCU

Until now, the MCU has been closer to sci-fi, with big space fights and scientists’ creations that have revolutionized the world. However, the comics also feature a fair share of fantasy too. One of the most famous fantasy comics in Marvel history is Weirdworld, the story of Elves Tyndall and Velanna and dwarf Mud-Butt, who went through adventures that would impress Dungeons and Dragons fans. Weirdworld was then used as the inspiration for one of the many domains in Battleworld.

Marvel’s Planet Hulk, Explained

Hulk’s unwitting journey from gladiator to ruler during the fan-favorite Planet Hulk storyline is filled with betrayal, love and vengeance.

With the recent leak, many of the images point to a Medieval setting, where fantasy generally develops in high fantasy series like Game of Thrones or The Lord of the Rings. It would make sense for the MCU to try a bit of fantasy, but what better way to bring Weirdworld into the big screen than through a non-commital alternate reality in Secret Wars?

The Young Avengers/Champions Are On The Way

It’s been several years since Marvel Studios started teasing the debut of the MCU’s first teenage superteam. With the debut of Kate Bishop, everyone assumed it would be Young Avengers, but as Ms. Marvel becomes more prominent with time, it may actually be the Champions. Regardless, now fans have concrete proof of their future debut.

One of the leaked pictures features Ms. Marvel, Wiccan, Speed, Stature, and Kate Bishop at a table while sharing a drink with Wong and Star-Lord. Not only does this confirm the team is on its way, but it also basically reveals its roster. This will surely make for a hilarious dynamic between the two of them and the younglings.

Jocasta Will Appear On Vision Quest

Following Vision’s death in WandaVision and his transformation into White Vision, fans have been eager to see him again in his series, Vision Quest. Thanks to the leaked images, they’re also excited to see how he will interact with Jocasta, another synthezoid created with Janet van Dyne’s consciousness.

Although she was initially loyal to Ultron, Jocasta went through a thrilling redemption arc, eventually betraying him to help the Avengers. The self-loathing feelings that come with her villainous past have led her to sacrifice herself for others several times. If the MCU adapts this storyline perfectly, it will treat the fans to one of the best character arcs ever. Another amazing option would be for Jocasta to appear in the Marvel Zombies adaptation, as she was one of many Marvel heroes recruited to fight back against the hellish reality.

Franklin Richards Will Be Important In The Future

With Fantastic Four: First Steps only months away from hitting the big screen, Marvel has already released a first teaser for the movie. This small clip shows the four members of the team as well as other important allies. However, it didn’t show any of the Richards kids. This has changed. The MCU leak shows Franklin in two different circumstances.

Discover the quintessential comic eras of Marvel’s First Family from some of the Fantastic Four’s most iconic creators ahead of the team’s MCU debut.

First, he’s a small baby living with his parents and the other Fantastic Four members at their house — this is probably conceptual art for Fantastic Four: First Steps since it fits the aesthetic. In the other one, he’s next to his mother while Doom sits on the throne with his father, who was recently captured. None of the images truly speak about Franklin’s power in the comics — he’s a powerful reality warper — but he’s already in the MCU, which means his story will make it to the films sooner or later.

Black Panther 3 May Be A Prequel

Among the many Secret Wars leaks that have the internet on a frenzy right now, there were two drawings of a Black Panther, one with a mask and one without it. They were tagged with the name of T’Chanda. Comic fans know this is actually T’Challa’s grandfather, also known as Azzuri, and more importantly, the Black Panther during WWII.

With this in mind, some theorize Secret Wars will include his story. Still, others have gone further to assume Black Panther 3 will be a prequel — maybe adapting the 2010 comic series Black Panther/Captain America: Flags of Our Fathers. This theory is strong. On the one hand, it would explain who Chris Evans will play upon his return, but it would also solve the problem with the recasting/not-recasting controversy following the sad death of Chadwick Boseman.

4

Doop Will Finally Join The MCU

Besides establishing a potential work relationship between the Young Avengers/Champions, Star-Lord, and Wong, the leaked image showing these characters also includes another character never seen in the MCU before: Doop. Created as a military experiment during the Cold War, this eccentric alien has always been connected to the X-Men, so his appearance, even if it feels like a cameo, hyped the fandom immediately.

It would be interesting if Doop became an honorary Young Avenger. In the comics, he works as the official videographer of the X-Force team, so Doop’s appearance in the image could mean the Young Avengers will become public through a marketing strategy. Considering stuff like the Avengers musical or the fan conventions Kamala attends, it would make sense for S.H.I.E.L.D. to try and give them a publicity campaign so the general public trusts them.

The MCU’s Children’s Crusade May Change A Bit

Since Wiccan debuted in Agatha All Along, fans have wondered how he and Scarlet Witch will cross paths. Given some rumors regarding Doctor Doom and Scarlet Witch becoming lovers, comic readers believe the MCU will adapt “The Children’s Crusade.” The leaked images may have provided some clues.

The MCU May be Building Toward a Special Avengers Story

The MCU has introduced various Young Avengers members, and could possibly be setting up the team’s epic comic book crossover with the Scarlet Witch.

Since Star-Lord and Wong are hanging out with the teenage team in the leaked art, fans think the Avengers will probably be involved in their adventures as mentors. Likely, Wiccan will bring them both to Wundagore with them as he did with Magneto in the comics. This would be a great way of bringing the story closer to the MCU since Magneto isn’t part of it yet. Besides, the dynamic between the younger heroes, Wong, and Star-Lord would surely be hilarious.

2

1602 May Get A Second Chance in The MCU

One of the most tragic scenes depicted in the recent leaked art shows a male figure in chains under a waterfall. Since it’s a black-and-white image, there’s no way of knowing who it is. However, fans believe it’s actually the Human Torch because Doctor Doom tortures him by chaining him under a waterfall so he can’t flame on in the 1602 series.

1602 already got some screen time during What If…? since the second season inspired the eighth episode. However, there’s still plenty to adapt from this series – including the Secret Wars alternate reality based on the original comic, 1602 Witch Hunter Angela. This comic would fit right in the MCU since Agatha All Along opened the door to more stories on witches inside the Marvel universe.

God Emperor Doom Will Rule Battleworld

After the final incursion between Earth-616 and Earth-1610, Victor Von Doom used the power of the Beyonders to create Battleworld — a patchwork planet made with pieces of different realities. Of course, he appointed himself as the leader, God Emperor Doom. Eventually, he and Doctor Strange twisted the memories of Battleworld’s inhabitants to make them believe there had never been anything but this reality. Doom also copied a reality where Reed Richards didn’t exist. Susan Storm fell in love with him, and together, they had Franklin and Valeria and ruled Battleworld as a family.

The leaked images show Doom on a throne, Susan and Franklin on one side, and Doctor Strange on the other. This scene is inspired by God Emperor Doom’s Secret Wars storyline. If fans had any doubts about which Secret Wars comic would be adapted, the leaked art confirmed that Jonathan Hickman’s 2015 event would highly influence the film.
